Learner Success Associate

THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you passionate about making a difference in Colorado’s workforce? Are you looking to work in an environment committed to social justice and economic mobility? ActivateWork is seeking a Learner Success Associate with Coaching, Recruitment, and Admissions responsibilities to join our team.

As a Learner Success Associate, you will play a vital role in recruiting and admitting qualified, dedicated learners for our technology and professional development boot camps and special programs. Once they are admitted, you’ll guide learners toward graduation and preparation for their careers. In these roles, you will provide support and advocacy for our learners, ideally as a peer advocate who can offer guidance and understanding based on shared experiences. In addition, you will be involved in projects related to all the learner success operations including career development and program management

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

This role will be responsible for a series of tasks that include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

Coaching (50%)

  • Collaborate with two Career Coaches to facilitate group coaching sessions focused on building skills and increasing employment readiness using ActivateWork’s frameworks.
  • Assist learners in setting goals and overcoming challenges and provide peer support and advocacy for learners based on shared experiences.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for learners facing personal or professional challenges and make external referrals when appropriate.
  • Encourage learners by recognizing milestones and accomplishments.
  • Contribute to the implementation of programs for 18–24-year-old learners.

Recruitment & Admissions (30%)

  • Collaborate with Recruitment & Admissions Manager to coordinate candidate interviews and manage the final selection process, including entering applicant data into Salesforce.
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective candidates via email and phone.

Program Management Support (20%)

  • Collaborate with the Director of Learner Success on time-sensitive projects and with internal teams to provide seamless learner support.
  • Assist with Learner Success events such as cohort kickoffs, graduations, and industry events.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION

Professional Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in mentoring, advising, or coaching in a professional setting.
  • Demonstrated interest in technology or related field, preferably including completion of IT or software development training program or bootcamp.
  • Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Salesforce preferred.

      ActivateWork is seeking an Employer Account Manager to serve as the linchpin in nurturing existing employer accounts and fostering productive relationships across all levels of the organization, including hiring managers, HR, and C-level executives. This role is pivotal in ensuring deep relationship penetration and a consistent pipeline of revenue – staffing bootcamp graduates into direct hire positions or apprenticeships at employer partners. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in creating and enhancing the account management process, meticulously adhering to it, and providing comprehensive reporting on account activities.

      WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

       This role will be responsible for a series of tasks that include, but are not limited to, the following:

       

      • Manage a portfolio of employer accounts, ensuring continuous engagement, satisfaction and meeting annual revenue goals.
      • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing employer accounts, with a focus on fostering connections with hiring managers, HR professionals, and C-level executives.
      • Drive revenue generation through strategic management identifying opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expansion of services to meet client needs and increase business volume.
      • Innovatively identify and cultivate new opportunities for work-based learning and apprenticeships, crafting creative solutions to address the hiring needs of employers, placing ActivateWork candidates.
      • Leverage previous experience in full-cycle recruiting to proficiently screen, and match candidates with employer opportunities.
      • Collaborate closely with the Learner Success team to identify suitable candidates for direct hire and apprenticeship placements.

      THE OPPORTUNITY

      As an Administrative Associate at ActivateWork, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of various teams by providing comprehensive administrative support. This role involves diverse tasks, from document management and meeting coordination to data quality assurance and customer service. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

      WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

      • Assist in drafting, editing, and proofreading documents, reports, and presentations.
      • Coordinate and manage correspondence, emails, and communications.
      • Perform general office and administrative duties, including maintaining inventory of office supplies and ordering supplies as needed.
      • Take minutes during meetings and distribute them to relevant stakeholders.
      • Organize meetings, events, and training sessions.
      • Collaborate with teams (Sales, Account Management, Coaching, Apprenticeships, and Leadership) for day-to-day data quality checks.
      • Maintain organized electronic or physical filing systems for grants, finances, employee records, etc.
      • Manage version control and ensure document accuracy.
      • Act as the point of contact for internal and external inquiries, providing excellent customer service.
      • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide information to stakeholders.

      WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION

      • High school graduate.
      • Post-secondary graduation from a recognized institution with an office administration or business diploma is an asset (or equivalent education and experience).
      • Two years of recent related experience in a fast-paced, complex office setting, ideally with a small business or non-profit agency.
      • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite programs.
      • Experience with database and customer relationship management software is an asset.
      • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
      • Ability to take direction and supervision.

      Executive Director for Tech Talent Partnership

       

      REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL 

      ActivateWork, a leading organization dedicated to catalyzing regional economic growth and prosperity, is seeking proposals from qualified individuals or teams to serve as the Executive Director for our Tech Talent Partnership program. We aim to bridge the gap between education and industry to create a robust and sustainable talent pipeline for the tech sector in Colorado.

      At ActivateWork, our mission is to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds to achieve economic self-sufficiency through meaningful employment opportunities. We believe in breaking down barriers to employment and creating pathways to success for all.

      PROGRAM OVERVIEW 

      The Tech Talent Partnership is modeled after successful initiatives such as the Greater Washington Partnership and P33 Chicago. Our mission is to foster collaboration between employers and the education system to align education and training programs with industry demands. We aim to identify key roles, skills, and career pathways crucial for the tech industry’s growth and success in Colorado.  In year one of the program, Slalom Consulting will assist with program governance, meeting planning and facilitation, critical asset map creation and development of a communication plan.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Act as the lead coordinator and facilitator between employers and educational institutions participating in the Tech Talent Partnership.
      • Act as the primary point of contact for the Education Task Force to connect education to employment workstreams.
      • Collaborate with the Tech Talent Partnership Steering Committee and ActivateWork to define industry needs, prioritize roles, and develop strategies to address talent gaps.
      • Engage with employers and ActivateWork to understand specific skill requirements and career pathways, translating them into actionable plans for education and training programs.
      • Coordinate marketing and communication efforts with external vendors and the ActivateWork Digital Marketing Specialist to promote the Tech Talent Partnership and its initiatives.
      • Ensure a high-touch experience for all stakeholders, coordinating closely with ActivateWork’s Talent Solutions Team who owns the individual employer relationships.
      • Lead monthly meetings with ActivateWork and other relevant stakeholders to provide updates and ensure alignment with goals and objectives.
      • Collaborate with government partners to explore incentives for employers and identify additional funding sources available to support the Tech Talent Partnership.
      • Coordinate and facilitate Steering Committee meetings and Education Task Force meetings, develop Action Plans in partnership with Executive Team, and hold Steering Committee and Education Task Force partners accountable for their commitments.
      • Foster partnerships with organizations such as Better Offer, Colorado Pay it Forward Fund, Tech Talent Denver, CWDC Industry Sector Partnerships, CareerWise, JeffCO Pathways to Prosperity, Colorado Succeeds, Colorado Technology Association and the Attainment Network to leverage resources and expand the program’s reach.
      • Support the development of a comprehensive long-term strategy for the Tech Talent Partnership, positioning it as a model for effective employer activation within CWDC Industry Sector Partnerships strategy.
      • Explore opportunities to replicate program success in additional regions and sectors.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Work experience preferred in business, education, technology, or a related field.
      • Advanced facilitation skills demonstrating an ability to both listen and drive for consensus or decision making.
      • Executive presence with an ability to guide and counsel leaders as the Tech Talent Partnership is forged to achieve program outcomes.
      • Proven experience in program management, talent development, workforce development, or a related field, with a focus on the technology industry.
      • Strong understanding of the tech talent landscape, including in-demand skills, career pathways, and emerging trends.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
      • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate industry needs into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
      • Experience working with educational institutions, employers, government agencies, and/or community organizations preferred.
