At ActivateWork, we recognize the unique talents veterans bring to the tech industry and provide tailored support to transform these skills into successful civilian careers through our professional development, personalized career coaching, job-search assistance, and access to industry networks and numerous tech pathways available, each with the potential to turn your military skills into a thriving civilian career.

Our programs are designed to meet the specific needs of the military community, ensuring you’re job-ready. You will benefit from a practical, hands-on approach to skill development like resume workshops, mock interviews, personalized career coaching, and introductions to industry leaders to build your professional network.

How Does It Work?

LEARNER SUPPORT

You’ll work with our Learner Support team to gain financial control and design success plans for personal and professional goals. Veteran alumni will also have access to no-cost alumni upskilling opportunities to foster wage/career advancement for 2+ years post-graduation.

Dedicated Career Coaches

20% of our curriculum focuses on Professional Development with opportunities for mock interviews, resume refreshes, and other job search prep support with opportunities for one-on-one coaching.

Job Connections

Learners are connected to a network of 60+ leading employer partners across Colorado.

Tuition-Free Tech Training

Receive hands-on learning and coaching to prepare for the job, industry-recognized certifications (paid for by us), and your career.

Thank you for serving your country. ActivateWork is here to support you by offering life-changing opportunities that enhance your job-readiness skills. 

Individuals from the military community enrolled in our courses will obtain immersive, cohort-based, and tuition-free training courses conducted full-time over 15-17 weeks in various disciplines, including:

  • IT Support offers the opportunity to earn the Comp TIA A+ certification, equipping you with the knowledge to fill a wide range of early career technology jobs such as Tier I/II Helpdesk, Support Technician, Jr. System Admin, among others.

 

  • IT Support & Security Fundamentals equips you with fundamental concepts in security specialties and hands-on training to enter this ever growing field as a Cybersecurity Analyst, System Administrator, Network Security Engineer, and more.
  • Software Engineering dives deep into every aspect of software engineering – computer science, React, Node, design patterns, and equips you with the knowledge to fill roles such as Junior Web Developer, UX/UI Designer, and App Developer.

Q: What does the program cost?

A: ActivateWork courses are 100% cost-free to the learner. There are no fees before, during, or after. Our training and services are paid for by donations and fees from foundations, corporations, government entities, and generous individuals. The program does not cover transportation or childcare costs.

Q: What are the Learner Requirements?

A: In general, learners must:

  • Be 18 or older
  • Have HS diploma/equivalent or higher
  • Have a passion for technology
  • Have US Work Authorization
  • Be able and committed to launching their career immediately following training
  • Have the ability commit to full time training (40 hours per week) + study time (20+ hours per week)

Q: What is the Admissions Process?

A: After you complete an application, you’ll learn about the admissions process for your specified course. 

Q: What if I don't have a laptop?

A: During the admissions process, we will assess each candidate’s needs on a case-by-case basis and support you in every way we can.

Q: I have a disability. Can you accommodate me?

Q: I receive unemployment insurance benefits and other benefits that require me to spend time working or looking for work. Can I still enroll?

A: Yes. ActivateWork courses are approved for people receiving unemployment insurance, as well as other benefits that would ordinarily require them to spend time working or looking for work. Your benefits should not be affected. If you have questions or concerns about your situation, please contact us.

Does ActivateWork help me land a job?

The goal of all of our training is to help you secure/obtain employment and take the next step in your tech career. We work with you throughout the training on technical skills and professional development. Once you complete your course, we will help connect you with opportunities at employer partners and provide ongoing career coaching. While most of our grads land jobs after the training, we do not guarantee a job.
