Director of Apprenticeships & Evaluation
Susan Hobson is the director of apprenticeships and evaluation at ActivateWork. She develops, delivers, and manages apprenticeship programs to ensure quality outcomes for employers and apprentices in collaboration with employer partners. She also oversees the planning and managing of day-to-day operations of ActivateWork’s data strategy, governance, and program evaluation.
Susan is passionate about IT education as a pathway to sustainable employment and equitable workforce development. Before joining ActivateWork, she worked in higher education for more than ten years in academic research, IT administration, and IT strategic consulting. She also worked in public health and market research for several years, developing the data analysis and data management skills she brought to her higher education career.
Susan earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi in exercise science and a Master’s of Public Health from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, focusing on environmental health. She also held a fellowship at the CDC blending the two degrees supporting policy development for and advocacy of equitable and healthy neighborhood environments and urban planning.
While originally from Mississippi, she has called Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, and now Littleton, CO, home.
